Please click the colored tile below to be taken to a specific color category of Mosser cats. All resources used are quoted at the bottom of the page. Would you like a color checklist to keep track of all the colors? You're in luck! You can print one off here: Mosser Cat Color Checklist.
Resources used:
*Original Mosser catalogs from 1975 to 2007.
*Original Mosser glass color records that were handwritten on notebook pages.
*Archive(dot)org to look up old glass dealer websites to confirm certain colors. They aren’t always accurate, but they can be helpful.
*Other Mosser glass figurines that were being produced during similar years. There is a Facebook group dedicated to the Mosser Jenny and Josh dolls (Jenny & Josh by Vi Hunter & Mosser Glass) that was incredibly helpful with certain colors. We also looked up Mosser collies and clowns. It’s worth noting that some colors can have different names depending on the figurine, but for the most part, they are fairly accurate across the board.
*Several long-time glass dealers. We talked to several long-time collectors who were patient in answering my many questions. Thank you!
*Mosser cats with original labels. We were fortunate to come across many Mosser cats that had the original store tag or dealer label still attached.
*Boyd glass color names. Boyd first opened in 1978. As with most glassmakers, they would often run similar colors alongside their competitors. Often with similar names as well. Boyd has excellent color records, so it was very appreciated during all of this research.
